Recent paper by the Robinson group is "Hot"

May 6th, 2011 ›

The recent paper by the Robinson group is being featured as a "Hot Article" in the Journal of Materials Chemistry. In the paper they study the chemical transformation in nanoparticles using CHESS (EXAFS) to uncover interesting and never reported transitions seen during the Kirkendall effect. In the Kirkendall effect a nanoparticle hollows due to asymmetric diffusivity of cations and anions. Their work will be useful for tailoring the properties of nanoparticles for energy applications.

The article is written in collaboration with the Hennig group.
