Ritu Sahore

Graduate Student - Giannelis Group


Ritu Sahore grew up in Punjab, India, and recieved her B.Tech.(Hons.) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Before coming to Cornell, she studied the synthesis of gold nanoparticles using biological sources as part of her Bachelors' Thesis, and spent a summer at the University of British Columbia studying microstructural and texture evolution during rolling in magnesium alloys. As a graduate student in Materials Science and Engineering, she joined the Giannelis group and the DiSalvo group (in Chemistry) in the fall of 2010, and is currently working on the synthesis of carbogenic nanoparticles for appication in fuel cells, and magnetic nanoscale ionic materials.
